Congratulations and best wishes to Cat and Matt who were married on Friday at the fabulous Rhodes House in the heart of beautiful Oxford.
Cat and Matt had flown back to England from Australia for their wedding and had chosen Oxford as their wedding destination as Cat had studied there. It was the first time I had photographed a wedding in Oxford and it was a delight! Matt and the guys were staying at Malmaison in Oxford which was the old prison and which was a great backdrop as they put their button holes on and had a pre ceremony pint in the bistro gardens. After some natural photography, I popped over the Rhodes House to meet Cat and the bridesmaids as they finished off their make up and got into their dresses. Cat and Matt did not want a traditional civil ceremony and had asked to do some photographs before their humanist ceremony and they had an impromptu Reveal as Cat came up the stairs and Matt was waiting at the top! As always, the majority of the day was photographed in a natural, unobtrusive way, to capture everything that is happening around me and following the ceremony the guests spilled out onto the lawn for cocktails and nibbles. A little way through the reception, we took some group shots that the bride and groom had requested and I then took them ff to do a couple shoot in the grounds of the fabulous Rhodes House. The gardens are beautiful and I absolutely loved the front entrance with its grand pillars and beautiful architecture. The rest of the day and evening was photographed in a documentary, reportage style, for the speeches, evening reception, cake cutting, first dance and party.
