A huge congratulations to Hélène and Ben who were married on Saturday at the fabulous Broxmouth Park in Dunbar, Scotland.

One of the most special weddings that I have had the privilege to photograph. A beautiful couple in an idyllic East Coast of Scotland setting, glorious sunshine, lovely guests and three different days to photograph in different ways.

The celebrations kicked off in style with a welcome dinner on Friday evening, held at Broxmouth Park for all the guests who had travelled from far and wide and Hélène and Ben had asked me to photograph the event. I snapped away using a documentary approach to the photography, with a nice zoom lens so that I could stand back and capture all of those special little moments from a distance without being too conspicuous! There were a couple of speeches towards the end of the evening which I photographed, taking images of the guys talking as well as the reactions of the guests and particularly, Hélène and Ben.

Hélène and the girls were getting ready in the main house on the morning of the wedding, so I started with lots of natural wedding photographs of the bride having her hair and make up done, along with the bridesmaids and family members. Ben arrived about half and hour before the ceremony, so I took a few shots of him and the guys putting their button holes on and greeting the guests. The house looked majestic, bathed in the early afternoon sun and Hélène and Ben were married on the steel steps by a celebrant in a lovely ceremony. After I had photographed the guests enjoying the reception for about half an hour or so, we drove down to the windswept local beach. There was a breeze blowing along the coast and there were big beautiful clouds in the sky which added to the dramatic feel of the fantastic setting. We let the veil blow in the wind and we got some fabulous shots on top of the rocks and then along the sand. Back at the hotel it was time for the speeches which I photographed using a reportage approach, as I did for the remainder of the evening.

Hélène and Ben asked me to do a photo shoot with them on the Sunday morning by the lake where they had stayed the night before. Hélène asked to do the shoot barefoot and I thought it would look fantastic if they wore their wedding clothes, Ben without his tie and jacket and Hélène without her lace. Once again, the sun was shining and we got some really beautiful photos in the long grass and on the little jetty before we headed to back to the main house for a hour or so of photos of the guests enjoying the post wedding brunch.

Here is just a tiny selection of photographs from the wedding weekend.
